Greetings from the CLEAA Executive Board,
2018 promises to be an exciting year for the Combined Law Enforcement Associations of
Arizona! We’re starting the year with a major announcement:
CLEAA is now a member of the National Association of Police Officers!
As you know, CLEAA already has excellent statewide coverage as members of the Arizona Police
Association. Our affiliation with the APA provides us access to the Verizon discount plan,
lobbying at the State Capitol, and much more. By joining NAPO’s over 240,000 members, we
will now have a voice in our Nation’s Capital. NAPO lobbies in Washington, D.C. for issues such
as pensions and the Peace Officer Bill of Rights.
CLEAA executive board members recently attended the NAPO pension and benefits seminar,
where we met the NAPO President and Executive Director. They pledged to help our Arizona
members however and whenever possible. For a list of additional NAPO member benefits,
please visit http://www.napo.org/membership/special-offers- members/
We are also excited to announce our CLEAA day away training will be held on Friday, March 2 nd
at the Westward Look Hotel, 245 E. Ina Road, from 11AM to 5PM. The training is free and lunch
will be provided. We want to make sure all of our groups are represented at the training, so
each president may register 5-7 members. To register, please email Michelle Doggett at
cleaaoffice@gmail.com. We’re going to be covering topics such as APA and NAPO legislative
updates, the 100 Club Scholarships, pensions and benefits, use of force and legal updates, and
more. We are excited to see you all there!
